Steel Deck Framing for the Stability and Security Your Family Wants.

When you invest in a long-lasting, low maintenance Trex deck, shouldn’t your frame last just as long?
The hidden parts of your deck are more important than the visible parts, especially if you build a multi-tiered or elevated deck.

Your family’s safety matters, so the quality of your steel deck frame really matters. Trex Elevations steel deck framing is built for a long, arduous life in the outdoors. It’s not a general purpose steel structure. It’s 100% engineered to live outdoors, just like your Trex decking and railing.

How is Trex Elevations better than other steel or wood deck framing?

It’s stronger.

  • Triple-coated steel offers consistency, durability and reliability other materials can’t.
  • You get longer spans with fewer posts – a more open design.

It’s safer.

  • Rot- and termite-proof steel lasts much longer than woo, plus it’s fireproof.
  • Chemical-free, unlike pressure-treated lumber.
  • Precision engineering means you can get dramatic, curved designs without sacrificing structural integrity.

It’s straighter.

  • Dimensionally stable steel stays where you install it–no warping.
  • Consistent dimensions mean a level run from house to edge.

POPULAR QUESTIONS

  • Is Trex Elevations more expensive than wood?

Yes. Trex Elevations steel framing is a more expensive product to use than traditional wood framing. It takes longer to install and the parts are more expensive than traditional Pressure Treated wood framing. With that, consider that a traditional wood deck structure will generally last between 20 and 30 years. Factors such as how close is your deck to the ground, your deck is facing north and gets little sun, damp environments and termites will all affect the expected life span of a traditional Pressure Treated wood deck structure. Whereas Trex Elevations is not affected by those issues and can easily last double or triple the life span of a wood deck structure. Considering that the life span of your deck could be increased by at least 20 years, the additional cost of Trex Elevations steel framing seems negligible.

  • Can I still use Trex Rain Escapes?

Yes, Trex Elevations is fully compatible with the Trex Rain Escapes system. At Your Deck Company, we have installed countless projects using the two products together.

  • Does Your Deck Company have experience with Trex Elevations?

At Your Deck Company, we are the largest installer of Trex in Ontario. We don’t just install the occasional Trex deck, we install Trex Decking and Railing almost every day of the week. With regards to Trex Elevations, we have installed countless residential and commercial projects ranging from decks as small as 200 sq ft up to over 7000 sqft. Although it is not used as often as traditional wood, Trex Elevations is an excellent long lasting choice for the structure of your deck.

  • Will Trex Elevations deteriorate like wood?

No. Trex Elevations steel framing has an unparalleled three layers of protection surrounding a carbon steel core, ensuring each critical joist, beam and ledger connection holds up to the elements for decades, with a 25-Year Limited Residential Warranty to prove it. And, unlike our interior-grade steel competitors, Elevations is the ONLY one code-listed for exterior use, supported by the CCRR0186 code compliance research report.

  • Can my entire deck be framed with Trex Elevations?

Yes. We can use Trex Elevations for every part of your deck structure. We can install the support posts, deck stairs, beams and joists using Trex Elevations. Additionally we can use it for less conventional items such as custom pergolas and other structural supports.
