Your Deck Company loves to offer Eco-Friendly products.

After building thousands of decks and projects using traditional wood products, we would often wonder what our impact is on the environment. We have also thought about the incredible number of trees that have been cut down as a result. Although we love the look and feel of a wood deck, is it really the most responsible way to build today? With eco-friendly products such as Trex and TimberTech, we now have choices to lessen our impact on the environment and deforestation. Today over 95% of our projects are built using Eco-friendly materials. These decking products last longer, look better, require less maintenance and are good for the environment. So, let’s start building smarter decks that you can enjoy for decades to follow.

Eco-Friendly Trex Decking.

Trex® eco-friendly composite decks are made from an innovative blend of 95% recycled wood and plastic film—that’s almost the whole thing. On top of that, Trex uses some of the most earth-friendly manufacturing processes in the country, reclaiming factory waste and eliminating the use of harmful chemicals. Trex uses locally reclaimed wood. By using reclaimed sawdust, Trex never has to cut down a single tree to make their products. The recycled wood in Trex decks is combined with recycled plastic film from a variety of sources. The average 500 square foot Trex deck contains 140,000 recycled plastic bags. As one of the largest plastic film recyclers in the U.S., Trex saves 400 million pounds of plastic film and wood from landfills each year. So in addition to contributing to a healthier environment, Trex eco-friendly recycled decking also contributes to your LEED points—not to mention your good karma.

Eco-Friendly Trex Elevations Steel Framing.

Trex Elevations steel deck framing is the best alternative to using traditional pressure treated wood deck framing materials. Trex Elevations will last substantially longer than a wood framed deck. As a result, reducing the number of times a deck will be rebuilt over the lifespan of a property. This longer lifespan that Trex Elevations offers, will in the future, dramatically reduce the impact on landfill compared to using pressure treated wood framing.  Your Deck Company, over the years, has sent an unimaginable amount of wood to the landfills due to replacing decks that have deteriorated and rotted out within as little as 15 years. Today, we have choices in deck  materials. These choices simply were not available back in 1986 when Your Deck Company started building decks. So, let’s build smarter decks, enjoy lower levels of maintenance and invest in decks that will last longer.

GoliathTech helical piles are an alternative to using traditional concrete deck foundations. At Your Deck Company we are so happy with the results and quality of the GoliathTech helical screw piles, that we are including these screw piles standard on all of the decks we construct. We were tired of the issues with traditional concrete such as frost heave and deterioration. As a result, we simply demanded something better for our clients and the quality of projects we undertake. GoliathTech Helical screw piles offer an accurate load bearing capacity, thermal insulation, faster installation, minimal property damage and zero chance of frost heave. In addition, GoliathTech helical piles (screw piles) are an engineered, reliable, accurate, steel foundation system. They are installed deep into the ground by certified installers and to exacting standards.

GoliathTech is one of only a very few pile manufactures that are ISO 9001:2015 certified for quality control. GoliathTech is currently the only screw pile manufacturer to be ISO 14001:2015 certified. This specific certification is to ensure the establishment, maintenance and implementation of a system to improve the environmental management and reduce the environmental impact during all operations of design, development, manufacturing and deployment of helical piles. So rest assured, at Your Deck Company, we not only want to offer the best quality products and services. We also want to lessen our overall impact on the environment and create decks that last longer.
